General Questions
27. Are Huntstown bricks waterproof?
They are no more waterproof than a clay brick wall. Most of the penetration goes through the vertical joints and so you should sure that they are filled and compacted-never fill the cavity with insulation on any unplastered walls.
28. Will the brick fade or discolour in time?
Weathering in coloured concrete occurs when the pigment eventually weathers off the face of the aggregate stones. Adequate overhangs at cills and roof will protect the walls. Natural weathering will occur on any walling materials due to dust and atmospheric conditions.
29. Is it subject to lichen or moss growth?
No more than any other wall finish when properly laid with proper overhangs.
30. Will there be colour variation if ordered much later?
This will not be noticeable in the blended colours. In single colours it is possible but it is a natural product.

Do you sell small tiles?
Yes, Minislate or Gemini (see separate sheet) and plain tiles or cladding tiles (265mm long x 165mm wide).
Coverage, 60 tiles per m². Eave tiles, top tiles and tiles and a half are required to weather the joints and keep the bonding.

Bonnet hip tiles course into the tiles. If the pitch is over 50º or the angle on plan is not 90º; mitre cut the tiles and use soakers. Alternatively, use ridge tiles.

Valley tiles will course in if the angle on plan is 90º (max. pitch 50º). Alternatively, a lead valley is suitable.
What fixing is required?
Nail all perimeter tiles and nail each tile in every 3rd course. On exposed sites or for vertical cladding, nail every tile. Use two 40mm aluminium nails per tile for standard battens.
How is the top tile fixed?
It hangs on the top course of full tiles. Use a top tile clip for fixing.
Are they suitable for vertical cladding?
Yes, fixing is the same as for pitched roofs.
What happens at the corners?
Use corner tiles. To keep the bonding line, use left hand and right hand eaves alternatively up along each corner.
